6mm arc brass Overview

Hornady produces 6mm arc brass with the same precision, attention to detail and focus on perfection that

has made them a world leader in bullets. They measure their brass for consistent wall concentricity,

tests pressure calibration to ensure uniform case expansion and hand-inspects each piece.

This dedication to quality ensures proper seating of the bullet both in the case and in the chamber

and consistent charges and pressures.

Designed to meet the needs of the world’s toughest critics, the 6mm ARC utilizes efficient,

high-BC bullets to deliver unprecedented performance from the AR-15 platform.

Commercial 6mm ARC offerings will feature bullets selected to deliver ideal performance for hunting,

match shooting and personal protection applications.

The result is optimal velocity and repeatable accuracy from your cartridges. New, unprimed brass.

This is not loaded ammunition.

At Hornady, brass is the foundation for what could be the most memorable shot of your lifetime.

Extra time and care is taken in the creation of our cases, producing smaller lots that meet strict quality standards.

Our cases offer reloaders excellent uniformity in case wall thickness, case weight and internal capacity

. We measure for consistently tight wall concentricity and even run our cases through a pressure

calibration test to ensure uniform case expansion. What does this mean to you?

Our cases allow preoper seating of the bullet not only in the case, but in the barrel as well.

High quality brass contributes to consistent charges and pressures, and ultimately,

it means optimal velocity and repeatable accuracy

Our 6mm ARC reloading brass is sorted by size, steel/aluminum/Berdan cases removed, then washed and tumbled.
These boxer primed 6mm ARC range brass cases Includes commercial and military casings.
These used brass 6mm ARC casings could have minor dings, dents, slightly bent mouths, or other slight imperfections,
but most flaws can be easily removed during resizing or will be shot out upon your first firing.
If you are expecting a perfect case, then you would probably be happier with our new brass,
these are quite good, but not perfect. 6mm ARC bullet casings are one of your least expensive options
when doing once fired 6mm ARC brass bulk reloading. Additionally, we add an extra 2% to 3%

6mm ARC once fired reloading brass cases to cover shortages and those that you may deem unusable.

Once Fired Brass (OFB) Basics

Our brass includes commercial and military casings. We do not sort by headstamp, manufacturer, case length, primer size,

flash hole, crimp, etc, unless specifically stated above. OFB may have imperfections, such as minor dings, dents, or bent mouths.

Most flaws can be easily removed during resizing or upon first firing.

This does not mean they are unusable, it just means you must resize them and fire them to remove the dings.

Please review this article for more information.

Additionally, manufacturers do not always follow SAMMI standards.

They can and do vary the case length on some brass (i.e., Hornady Leverevolution), use different size primers,

and may use nonstandard primer flash hole sizes (regular size is .074, small .057, .110 BMG).

Ensure you have the correct decapping pin when resizing and decapping,

as there is no standard and manufacturers can use any size they want.

The wrong size pin will make decapping difficult and break pins.

Many who have difficulty depriming think it is due to the crimp, however, sometimes it is due to a small flash hole.

More and more manufacturers are using a small flash hole, so this is not going away.

For primer sizes, manufacturers can and do use different sized primers in their products.

Note: Federal has both large and small 45 ACP (Blazer is all small primer), as does Starline for their 6.5 CM,

and many others do the same 308s can also be in both large and small.

All purchases of brass are in “as-is” condition. We do not guarantee these for every application or bullet combination;

they are intended for general reloading in a wide range of firearms. Regardless of our stock photos, some brass may be deprimed.

If they are damaged and can‘t be used, we will replace them, with the exception of dirty bulk brass since we did not sort them.

6mm arc Brass Preparation:

With bulk rifle brass you may sometimes notice a few case mouths are “out of round” or slightly dented below the shoulder.

These imperfections occur in the final tumbling wash operation after the case mouth has been annealed.

Brass manufacturers are aware of the case cosmetics and have worked to mitigate it, but due to equipment design,

denting may still occur.  Minor dents are normally removed in the first firing and will not affect case life or performance.

On non-plated brass, you may also notice all the anneal stain might not be polished off, which may give the case neck a pinkish color.

With some smaller caliber cases you may notice the case mouths to be slightly belled.

With all new rifle brass, you should first straighten out the case and case mouth, then chamfer and debur the case mouth inside and out.

To straighten the case mouth, run the case part way into the sizer die and let the expander ball straighten the brass.

To prevent the case neck from stretching, be sure to lubricate the case neck inside the case mouth.

6MM ARC BRASS  PREPARATION: WITH BULK RIFLE BRASS YOU MAY
SOMETIMES NOTICE A FEW CASE MOUTHS ARE “OUT OF ROUND” OR SLIGHTLY DENTED BELOW THE SHOULDER.

THESE IMPERFECTIONS OCCUR IN THE FINAL TUMBLING WASH OPERATION AFTER THE CASE MOUTH HAS BEEN ANNEALED.
BRASS MANUFACTURERS ARE AWARE OF THE CASE COSMETICS AND HAVE WORKED TO MITIGATE IT, BUT DUE TO EQUIPMENT
DESIGN, DENTING MAY STILL OCCUR. BUY HORNADY BRASS 6MM ARC.
MINOR DENTS ARE NORMALLY REMOVED IN THE FIRST FIRING AND WILL NOT AFFECT CASE LIFE OR PERFORMANCE.
ON NON-PLATED BRASS, YOU MAY ALSO NOTICE ALL THE ANNEAL STAIN MIGHT NOT BE POLISHED OFF,
WHICH MAY GIVE THE CASE NECK A PINKISH COLOR.

1. Vanammo

This caliber is doomed to fail, unless!

  2. Vanammo

Love the caliber, but it’s doomed to fail if components like brass, primers and factory ammo availability doesn’t pick up.

  3. Vanammo

Hornady has the patent and I’ve only seen it once for sale. I’ve resized 6.5 grendel and used 6ARC spent brass. Good luck.

  4. Vanammo

OP – I’d also look at forming from 6.5 Grendel brass. There’s plenty of Nosler out there (but spendy). Starline gets great reviews but is hard to find at the moment, at least at normal prices (not marked up to $1 per round).

  5. Vanammo

This is probably the best you’ll find online. Reasonable shipping too, especially if you buy a few boxes.

  6. Vanammo

    vey great brass
